Another Board member nomination and she gets to go to another meeting. Judy never seems to stop going to meetings,  She always says never know what kind of connections you will make only problem it  involves more work.

Keith Casteel took this monster last week of May 2009 we just received the final score on the skull. He has sent it away to have it cleaned by beetles so seemed to take longer. When useing beetles there is less chance of the skull to shrink than if you boil it but sometimes is a longer process.

 

Going to town on Wed afternoon and Sledders of the relay for site by local Lions groups in the Province. A fund raiser for Lions provides many people with assistance with sight problems

700 Yamaha and the Snow plow are putto the test with a new operator. Judy trys out her skills, this is usually Toms specialty but no quad rideing so Plan B. It is going to take much longer but as long as it is done who cares Right.  Forecast is for 6 more tonite so gues this better get done today.

Olympic torch carriers exchanged torches and travelled down the street. A once of a life time happening and I got one little photo with a steamed up lense. Coco-cola was passing out relfective coke bottles and flags for momentums occasion. We have a local competitor Jon Montgomery Skeleton Racing on the Olympic track at Whistler 6;30pm Feb 18. After surgery a short walk with his dogs is a major job for Tom. His girls, Jassy, and Fudge are happy to have him home and taking time to walk with them.

Scott our taxidermist, is in process of mounting this 6 ft black. he has 3/4 done just back leg to complete. Notice the plastic covering to keep moisture in till final touches are made. Makeing sure all hair lines are correct and for last finishing touches. The correct placement of hide is a very important step in mounting an animal.

This small lake near junction of #10 and #16 highway is a busy place on a nice day when ice is thick. Stocked with trout in spring, a large airation unit to keep oxygen levels high making healthy fish, locals spend many hours  on the ice fishing, and on a good day the catching is great. Ice fishing is a well known past time in Manitoba.

Tom under went back surgery and here 3 days later we are on our way home from hospital. He cannot sit for 8 weeks only walking and laying. Recovery is to be arounfd 3 months just in time to be on track for Spring Bear
