May 21 we were all loaded up andready to head for home… Tom and I would like to thank all who atttended camp this year for the great memories and good times you brought to camp…Also we would like to thank John aka Bump Bump and Warren aka Bird Man for all their help and hard work with out you we would be DEAD….. Every year we come and go , judy gets many photos this year hours of video footage and over 1200 photos to review, resize and add to this page.. Now summer is here we will have happenings around Big Grass lodge with family visitors, and the girls….. HOpe you have a great summer!! Keep in touch send me a photo of what you might be doing….. I now have a Big Grass page on Facebook so if you have photos to add in the fans of Big Grass that would be awesome…….

Dan and Tom discuss size of slippers Dan wears. Vinnie our Grandson spends a day with us in camp and will assist us in loading up for return home…. Oh my  own bed…..Yes!!!1

9 fingers takes this awesome blonde. Dennis was looking for a colorphase and he got the cream of the bear hunts.  Later while waiting for John to pick hiim up out walks a Monster Bear….Wow he was huge…. Darn now I have to come back if that stand might be available in 2011….. No problem we have room for 9 fingers. But you better make sure that knife is kept in the sheath we do not need any other mishaps like the last……….. You see the very white bandage ont he thumb!!!!

Toni and Tom fling a few arrows. Tom has not done much shooting since his disk fusion but he is slowly getting the grouping back… Now Toni pullin 85lbs  has no problem sticking the target on the kill zone..

Toni returns for a colored bear. First nite no show…. Warren sits with video camera to capture the hunt on tape. Second afternoon Toni checks out just how short Tom really is no he is not on his knees and Tom is not on a Stool. but It is a Great photo.. Go Way to go Toni…. Oh yes and thank you for picking up the bananas for the Banana Cream Pie you seemed to assist on eating…..

Each hunter is given a 2-way radio for comunicaiton with the guides. Problems do occur however as distances between hunters and transmission of these radios. Oh yes the other problem is Do they ever really turn them on till we are in the truck after dark……… Well most of the time we do but remember do not be a pain in the B*** and we will keep the radio on if not IT IS OFF!!!!!!!!!  Not really we rely on these a lot and the radios do help out in many conditions….

Wil takes this bear that is showing black with undertones of Brown. he has seen blacks before but notheing like this so he pulls the  trigger and gets his first Manitoba Black bear.

Dennis and Judy went to find Dennis a couple of rocks for him totake home to for his front step. Well he had not thought of one quite this size and it sounds like she has taken larger ones home. After loading a couple of rock Dennis finds his smaller ones and they head back to camp.

Dan says after you are over 65 it is a challenge to get to stand and up. Warren was a big help with gun and pack. After a couple slow nights he has bears coming and going everywhere. Teeth clacking in bush just beside stand he pulls up on this bear and it drops at the bait. He has been to Quebec in past and now been to Manitoba, a little different hunting but good bears and lots of laughs…. Way to go Dan…

 

Ken returns for another bear. After taking this bear  in comes a MONSTER. Ken gets a little pumped knowing he is booked to come back with his son Alex ,Tim, Mark so watch out Big Bears in 2011. We will be holding out for these big ones we know are still there…..
