Last morning in the field temps dropped to low 20F and geese did not fly till after 11 and they landed near the water so only a few birds showed. The ones that did did not make it through the decoys and Ken and TIm pulled them out of the sky.

KNee boots will not cut it to get to this stand water is up over the fenders on trail and right in front of barrels a hole over 3 ft deep. No hip boots needed but you must watch where you are walking.

Apr. 17 the Ice is still on the lake but water is open a little at the edges.

While it was snowing we caught lakers off shore so enjoyed delicious a supper on night.

Some places we winched through snow 3 ft deep. Here we see wolf tracks in the snow. The good thing ground is froze and we can get in and out easier in these spruce bogs.
