Bear Bait

While traveling to check on hunters Judy comes up on some TRAVELLIG BAIT . Well not wanting to really get a stick and do the trick she pulled out the 450 and made shot change of him. Well that night he was one of the trophies on the pole .                                                                            .

Thunderhead Broadhead placement

We harvested this bear on May 8 however it had been bladed with a arrow on May 2 . WE had found the arrow and when bear limpted in to stand hunter surmised that this was the same bear.  The 100 Gr Thunderhead broadhead tip is sticking out of the other side of the bone. This was just above the elbow of the bear. We have never recovered something like this before but have harvested bear which have had a the X of an arrow in many places .

Apr 30,08 Tom Friend Oh

nights on Scottys bait and Tom moves to the North, a long quad ride with much MUD and water and he is in stand. Tom passes the first time as this fellow arrives to bait but second time when the white blaze shows Tom pulls his Hoyt back and brings this bruin to his demise. THis will make an awesome full body mount. Congrats Tom. Also some good footage of the kill.

John Geller Oh, Apr 29,08

Patiently John puts in the time for a bruin to arrive. At 7;25 in comes this Cinnamon bear heading straight towards the barrel, John aims and pulls the trigger for his Mathews bow bringing this bear to his demise just short of 20 yds from the barrel. Johns 3rd bear bur FIRST with his bow he is just a GRINNING and it is Cinnamon Too!! Years back he took his son Jeff hunting and now Jeff replays the feature and they come to Manitoba together. HE did not hit the barrel so he did not have to mortgage the farm for the HIDDEN BARREL TROPHY costs. Way to go John.

Jeff Geller Oh Apr 28,08

Jeffs first bear hunt, lots advice from the peanut gallerys he rode up with. Just 2 hours in the stand and in walks this georgeous cinnamon with a huge white blaze. With no hesitation he pulls his Mathews up and nails the bear 35 plus yds away. Jeff has his first Manitoba Trophy bear. Way to go Jeff alias — Jethro!!

Ray Friend Oh Apr 28,08

Ray is in stand minutes when this great 5 ft black arrives to the bait. Pulling back his Bear Bow he releases his arrow to bring the bear to his demise. Or maybe not quite. After assistance from Toms 444 Marlin Ray, Tom and Tim carry this bruin back to the quad. Lots of stories will be added about this hunt.
