Another one bites the dust. Big old Fox squirrel at my bird feeder and the standing rule is, hang around the woods away from feeder you live, come to feeder and YOU Die or after many shote you die. the grandson will skin him and see if he is worth anything at the fir market and NO I will not fry him up and put him in the crock pot for dinner.. Tim Tucker did suggest that is not a canuck thing..
Christmas Baking in Manitoba
Gingersnaps is part of the baking all of us love. Son-in-law Doug expects these but they must be crunchy so he can dunk them.
Mouse in the HOuse

Anyone in need of a mouse.. Seems like there is one in the house. Another bag of poppycock is nearly empty. Not sure where it goes but it surely disappears fast if out in view.
Wildlife in Manitoba
Out for a little drive this morning, sighted this badger our in field, dirt flying, I stopped, he looked and then just turned and started to dig again. Badgers have great hide and prices seem to be rising.
Local Christmas Pageant in Manitoba
Local gathered together to experince the Nativity scene in a barn with cattle lowing, Jelda the donkey, sheep , and a very small tiny baby.. Beatiful carols and choir singing. Hot apple cider and tea with cookies was served at the end.
Bait for the bears and nothing better than Beaver carcasses.

Beavers collected from Spring trapping and we chop them up and put pieces in the meat barrel at the bait.
Bear hunting Breaky
Hasbrowns, eggs, Manitoba bacon, fresh fruit, Oj, brown toast, home made jam, peanut butter and anything else you may need is what covers the table for bear camp. After a good breakfast on Monday morn we shot the rifles, or bows sharpening up the shots in prep for the Bear hunt later in the day.
