Here Tom has barrels of grease ready to be heated and poured over the oats for bear bait. Then 50 barrels are hauled to outcamp and put out at baits. Depending what activity we usually have at bait or how difficult it is to get into bait we place 1 or 2 barrels. These barrels way around 4-500 lbs after oil is added. Each barrel is chained to a tree and has a 4-6 inch opening in top. We also use meat scraps for bait while hunting.
