Tracks in the Mud

Seth looks for tracks we are not sure if it is Moose tracks he searches for or if he is leaving sasquatch tracks!

RMNP Moose

A moose seems like I have taken many photos but the moose does not seem to show but here in this swamp this young animal stands while we get some good photos. You can see how low the water levels are this is usually water up into the grass which is atleast 12-18 inches lower that usual.

Bear attitude

This bear must have been tuned in by another larger bear as the nose had a wicked slash to it. There had been other bears at this bait when Seth hunted here so this blonde was the looser when feeding at the bait.

Tim Hoeck and Seth Rozeboom, Sd 5+ft colored brs.

Tim puts his red bear down with his Mathews Switch back with no problem. Then later just at dark Seth gets the chance at this Blonde. He had watched a sow and cubs ramble throughthe site the eveneing before. The cubs up to no good frolicking  over the barrels and logs. After he shoots his bear on TUesday nite he pays close attention to where it went and to the following sounds, including the death moan. Due to dead of dark Tom decides to wait till AM to retreive the bear. So 5am they leave and just a few yds past the last sign Tom tells Seth to go ahead and there lays his BEAR. GRINS and more GRINS. Now won’t this make  a great full body mount for this young fellow. Way to go Guys!! these fellows booked their hunt through Bowhunting Safari consutltants and Mark Buehrer.

2 colored bears on the Pole

Seth and Tim of Sd. make 2 good shots and bring these two bears to the ground. Tims to the pole after the hunt and Seths arriving next am and we have a great photo shoot. Not bad for a couple of Archers.

Gone Hunting

Silence is Golden – What a  glorious site for theCOOK.!!!!!! Now Judy gets to relax, read her book, eat bon-bons, lay on the Soqi bed, for the whole afternoon and evening. Ooops forgot  she did have orders to check the camp bear  baits, cook a roast beef dinner for 10 ,  along with Banana Cream and Chocolate Cream pies for desert.  No Problem !!

Bear stand gear

Jane and Steve are ready to go. Back packs full to the max, Bows, arrows, releases , water bottles, cushions,  sandwich, Sweet and salty granola bars and all in prep for the hunt. If there were  no Sweet and Salty bars for the hunters on the table we just checked the truck that Dave was driving and there was always small storage of them there. He even tried selling them to Mike one day.

Knowledgeable Big Grass Bear Guides

Today they are all set waiting on the hunters to head for the field. Every year we experience the challenges of finding staff. We had Hillbillie around for a few years and he went on to something new. Now we have Dave and John. 2008 we started with  Dave is quiet, called “Clean palms” and Sandy the cook. and Tim the tool man. Then there is John also quiet, called “Grace”. Any one who comes to camp usually acquires a Camp name before they go home. Names just seem to pop up sometimes depending on the  job of the day.

Bear Video footage

Every one sits to view the footage captured during last weeks hunt while the hunter was in the stand. THis gives new hunters an idea of what to expect and  size of bears before he goes to the stand.

Scent control

Scent control is a very important thing for bow hunters. They hang their outer wear on the line to freshen it all prior to hunting. some fellows put their gear in a sirtight bag with Mud Pie wafers. With so many different shades of camo and different types of clothing  on the market these days it is like a fashion statement when going hunting.
