Rookie guide training

Adam/Dufus/Funnel D has time to do the guides job of washing blood off bear before photos tomorrow morn. He caught on not too bad to a few jobs that were done around camp over the week. He even took a little abuse from us all.

Big paw

This front paw is from Steves 6ft bear makes this 338 shell look small. Measuring pad it was over 6 inches. Steve figures even when he is over 6 ft and a good reach on his are we would not want this big paw to give him a smack.

Bs a foot deep

Supper is done, and after a couple of cool ones the stories start to flow.  Good thing dogs are brown as it would be showing on them. The inocent one Funnel D is not sure how to take all this added info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6.3ft black Steve Svoboda, Ks. Sept 2

8;42, 8;42.5 and 8;43 pm shots rang out through the valley after this huge fellow skirted the bait. He did not look like he as going to come it  so as he crossed the opening I just brought that old 338 up and pulled on the trigger. TOm did tell me not to stop shooting till he stopped moving, Taxidermists get paid to sew holes and I did not think tracking this bear would be fun.  6.3 ft with a 6in pad taken with his 338 which he has taken his first deer, elk and now a bear.  Way to go Steve!!

5.5 ft balck and a blaze Craig Schmidt Mn.

Craig has a limited time to hunt as he has a meeting at home only 12hrs away Wed at 4pm so the pressure was on, First nite he had a small bear arrive, and then next nire he has this fellow show after a little one leaves. Tracking in the dark  and brush this as a picket fence but him and Josh gotthe bear to the trailer  with a little encouragement of a Coyote who yodeled only yds away. It was a little surprise when they heard it. Makes a great story to go along with a great 5.5 ft black with a blaze.

Father and Son Colored bears

Now those smiles kind of tell it all Dont you think?

Jeff is pumped!!

Just 20 min after retreiving Joshs bear and Crack a shot rings throught he air. We arrive at the site, Josh opens the door to Jeffs stand, What are you doing here”” I got my bear too. Wow I cannot believe it, was that you on the radio. YAH!!.  Jeff is pumped, both he and his son have bears with in 2 hours.

5 ft Cinnamon Josh Ganske Mn.Sept 1

Josh is pumped he took this bear at 6pm, radios Judy but she is not there. So after walking 1.5 mi. up the hill she arrives nad they pick up his bear. A great shot with his bow 10 yds and it is just 10 yds from the bait. What an awesome rug htis will make. Way to go Josh.
