High water levels all over Manitoba

Mowing grass is a challenge when it is standing on lawn in some places.. this also makes lawn soft and times it means mowing grass in water. What really sucks is the number of mosquitos and black flys we have this year.. black flys only usually couple days but this year we have had them for 2 weeks already hopefully they will be gone soon.. But here Tim found the softest spot of all and needed a little tug..

Taxidermist at work.

Pouring the forms, carving out the mouth for a jaw set, adjusting the eyes, adding the felt trim, and then there is fleshing the raw hide, pressure washing the skull to be aged 60 days before final score and the bear rug is still not finished.. Cause the hide must be stretched, bare and discolored spots painted, all these things must be done before the ordering of cities permits, and shipping the finished rug to the hunter.. Scott usually has the fihished rug back to the  clients befor a year is over.,, barring all dissasters like postal strikes, and spring bear and turkey season starts…..

Manitoba Elk

Scotts taxidermy shop is always a treat to enter.. bears, whitetail deer, wolves, moose, cougars, african mounts of elan, sable, or just a cleaned bear skull or european whitetail deer. Great quality work, and not a assembly line of work all done by one person. Scott prepares all hides to the tanners, pours many mounts and makes bases for the full body mounts also..
