2 Juvenile snow geese the right goose with orange color on face from the tundra. this means this goose has just migrated from the north the other left has been in area and color has scrubbed off from eating in stubble… We see this each year if we happen to hunt a new migration of birds..

 

Just laying in a duck blind and of the left comes 2 Brandon pops up and crack down goes 2 birds.. Ooops hope these are not Judys Hungarians or I will be busted. My lucky day Sharptails some good eatn here.

Bird hunting in temps like this is a challenge but we have had some good some bad.. Birds flying first and last thing of the day… But it is hunting and I have no control over temps.. Last year on Oct 9 we had 6 inches of snow.. Just a little difference..

Tanner cannot wait till it is time to hunt.. Temps in the 80’F Tom S. spoils his dog with airconditioned truck before the hunt…It is great to have hunters bring thier dogs with them.. the exposure of many retrieves makes for a great trip for all. And seeing the dogs work is great while in the blind..

Tom, John, and Corey and their dogs have a great shoot on Cacklers, snows and ducks.. dogs worked great and birds did too.. We have not counted the shells they used but it was a few.

Jake retreives these huge honkers the guys put to the ground this am…Way to go guys

LImits of Canadas and some snows with many Ross geese and a ffew ducks on a pea field.. 80 F by noon is what we are hunting in. but no problem beats 5 inches of rain or snow.. 

California Girls take limits of geese and some ducks and couple of ducks.

Randy and Jason arrive for the goose opener.. Snows, Cacklers couple of Big Cans and ducks.. first day in the field and the shells per bird was not that great but Vinnie was our Rookie and he used those shells up.. I Think we sowed the seed and now have another Bird hunter in the family….

Snow geese are migrating in , sitting on a low spot on a pea field where carrying decoys by hand will likly be only way as we have had high levels of rain fall during last few months. fields are pretty well saturated.. might mean soem deep ruts and 4 wheelin it.. dont get stuck what ever…
