May Motion camera photos show how thin the whitetail were after winter. Looks like the one doe is heayy in calf. Every year we have a doe fawn out back , we are seeing big and small foot prints in the garden near the peas.. I have no problem sharing as long as they dont eat them all
This is the second hatch of Robins in the same nest. I guess I’ll be watching the strawberry patch because I am not wanting to share too many berries. The hunters will be complaining there is no Strawberry Shortcake for desert!
Last weekwe had bear scat, this week we have foot prints down the lane and across the garden to the Raspberries which I hav started to pick. I share with the birds but not sure if I will share with Mr Bear. We may hav to bring out the 410 to tell him to stay away! No wild berries this year the 2 year olds are hungry.
Joseph caught 3 and their Mamma at a bait in Spring. Lots of goofing around and great footage. The sow will put the Cubs up the tree if she feels the Cubs are in Danger. Sows with Cubs are not allowed to be shot.
just a heads up Judy was in hospital for a hip replacement June 23 this was all preplanned we had to get the Spring bear hunting over before she could take time off, she was back home in 4 days and is doing fine… she can now sit at the laptop and pics will flow….. Plans for fall bear are in the works and fulll speed ahead… however the walker gets put on hold, and the New Viking gets her around the yard to make sure everything is fine.. Tom spend 10 days off trucking to be the care giver… bell rang Tom came a running.. Not so fast. but was great to have him home getting all the things done he loves to do…
Mr Fisher to the stand and settled, then boom Bear Down, then the story Mr Fisher is so excited it was a unique experience for us to have someone so new to the Hunting world. His Face said a million words. Congrats to Mr Fisher on his Manitoba Black bear Trophy.
This scat is the size of a Coke Can, I wonder what size of a Big Old Bruin it came from.. Time will tell when we hunt this stand..
Access to meat scraps in rural Manitoba for bear bait, most hunters use some sort of bait besides oats and grease from sweets, baking, candy, meat scraps and beaver carcasses.. Good baiting practices make great sightings and the baits.
A visitor to the lodge the other nite, not sure what his size was but if this is indicator he was a shooter.. we always have the odd fellow pass threw. As long as he leaves the seat of rhino alone we will be all Happy!
May 27 we had Mr Nan, Mr Fisher and Mr Yang experience a Black Bear hunt at Big Grass. Photos with the Big Bear, Bear 101 and then Camo up and head for the stand. Lots of questions, lots of laughs and I hope we all understood everything.
