Red Tailed hawk sits on a bale waiting for a mouse or something to move so he can have some dinner.. we have many Red Tailed Hawks in the area, they are great to keep rodents down but they are very hard on the small Sharpe Tails and Ruffed Grouse in mid summer..

Visitors in the night.. a great drinking spot for anyone on the move.. this coyote and many others are caught travelling threw here… Doe and fawns stop for a drink going to and from bedding areas. Another Moose Cow, just moving threw.. each year we have some good sightings of moose with the big slough out back and all the red willow which they like to feed on…

Stealth trail camera
Over the summer the Stealth has captured some awesome pics of what is happening out on the back 40. This Big old Bull moose in late September rubbing his horns on the small willows at the beginning of the Rut.. After a crazy windy day in Manitoba a tree was blown over to fall in view and this sassy Magpie spent a lot of time in view. then the capture of this lone coyote while Sassy was on the branch… And earlier in the summer this doe checks to see who else is visiting the area…

Limits of Frozen Canadas and ducks
From the field to the freezer and Home, Hunters take back their limits of Canadians and Ducks for processing at their homes. Here are frozen breasted out Canadians and ducks which have a wing left on for Identification when travelling across the border. Then they can remove the wing and pace to freezer for use in making Orange duck casserole, duck breast in Mushroom gravy and many other favorite recipes of the regular Joe hunter. Our Bird man Warren is well trained in Birdcleaning.

Whitetail movement at Big Grass in Manitoba
We have some good activity out back at the deer stand.. Crop is not combined yet but the bucks are starting to move… Velvet is gone, Archery season is on now but it is very hard to pattern or fling a stick with so much food.. The one buck has been frequenting the area every other day so not too bad but at 2 am.. WE have a doe with 2 fawn who is very thin and I am wondering why. Her backbone is showing in some pics, but the fawns are big so she must be a good mother.
